Enable the XStandard Lite 2.0 Editor in Joomla! PDF Print E-mail

When you install Joomla! you are initially given two options for your default editor, either 'No Editor' or 'TinyMCE', but your standard Joomla! installation has a third option as well. This mini tutorial will show you how to enable, and configure the XStandard Lite 2.0 WYSIWYG content editor.

The first thing you will need to do in order to use the installed XStandard Lite 2.0 Editor, is to enable the Joomla! plugin. Open the Plugin Manager (Extensions > Plugin Manager) and locate the plugin named Editor - XStandard Lite 2.0. Either click the name of the plugin, or check the box to its left and click the 'Edit' icon on the top right hand side of the screen to edit the Plugin settings.

On the left hand side of the Plugin configuration screen, set the Enabled option to 'Yes'.

On the right hand side of the Plugin configuration screen, you can modify the Editor Mode and Word Wrap parameters if you wish, however the default values should be alright.

Once you have finished modifying the Plugin parameters, click the 'Save' icon on the top right hand side of the screen. Now the XStandard Lite 2.0 Editor will be available for you to use. However you still need to perform additional steps in order to actually use the editor for creating your content items.

Now you need to open the User Manager (Site > User Manager) and locate your username in the list of site Users. Either click on the username or check the box to its left and click the 'Edit' icon on the top right of the screen to edit the User.

On the right hand side of the screen locate the User Editor drop down list, and select 'Editor - XStandard Lite 2.0' from the list of selections. Then click the 'Save' icon on the top right hand side of the screen.
